WELLINGTON, Kan - Artists are asked to create a button design to reflect the 117th Kansas Wheat Festival. The 117th Kansas Wheat Festival is July 12 – 16, 2017 in Wellington, KS. Design must reflect the Chisholm Trail theme. Artists are encouraged to also submit a complimentary t-shirt design. The t-shirt design can be the same as the button and tshirt designs should have no more than four colors.
Artists must be 16 years of age, and must reside in Kansas. There is no fee to enter, but designs must be received by *5 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016* to be eligible.
The winning design will be featured on the 117th Kansas Wheat Festival buttons, poster, t-shirts and other promotional items. The winning artist will also receive $500 in cash and bragging rights galore!
All designs submitted become property of the Kansas Wheat Festival/Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. Designs must be submitted in the original design file and .png file and submitted electronically to wellingtonkschamber@gmail.com. Button designs must be digital designs.
Prize money is sponsored by the Sumner County Economic Development & the Kansas Wheat Festival/Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. All communities along the Chisholm Trail will be expecting international visitors throughout the year as people travel from near and far to get a taste of the Chisholm Trail and celebrate the 150 years along the Chisholm Trail.

The 117th Kansas Wheat Festival, will be theme is focused around the Chisholm Trail in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Chisholm Trail. Artists are encouraged to send in design concepts for poster, t-shirt or other merchandise to showcase their art proposal for the button design.
